Paul Ferri, a venture capitalist
for more than 30 years, was the founding partner
of Matrix Partners in 1982. Prior to Matrix, he founded
Hellman Ferri Investment Associates (1977 to 1982)
and was a general partner of WestVen Management (1970
to 1978).
The family of Matrix Partnerships
has achieved industry record-setting returns over
the last decade. In February 2001, Forbes magazine
selected Ferri as one of the Top 20 Venture Investors
of all time and the "Best
VC in Boston." Also, among other honors, Ferri
recently received the 2001 Massachusetts Telecommunications
Council Award for "Venture Capitalist of the
Year."
Paul serves or previously served as a director of
Applix, Inc., ArrowPoint Communications, Inc., Ascend
Communications, Inc., Atria Software, Inc. Banctec,
Inc., Bytex Corp., Cascade Communications Corporation,
Codex Corporation, Equipe Communications Corp., Paradyne
Corporation, Redstone Communications, Inc., Sonus
Networks, Inc., Stratus Computer, Inc., Sycamore
Networks, Inc., VideoServer, Inc., Xyplex Inc. and
numerous other private companies.
He holds a Master of Business Administration degree
from Columbia University, a Master of Science in
Electrical Engineering degree from Polytechnic Institute
of New York, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical
Engineering degree from Cornell University. |

John Koehler is President, Chief Executive
Officer and a member of VITAL Network Services' Board
of Directors. Prior to joining VITAL in January 2002,
John led Paradyne Network's DSL product development
and worldwide service teams as Senior Vice President
and General Manager - DSL Products and Worldwide Service.
From 1993 until 1999, Koehler served as President,
Chief Executive Officer and Director for TechForce
Corporation, a publicly-traded data networking service
company. During his tenure at TechForce, John grew
the company's customer base from two primary customers
to over 1000, producing an increase in revenues from
$9 million in 1993 to annual revenues of over $90 million
in 1999.
During his 35 years in the networking industry,
John Koehler has also served in various management
and executive management positions with BT Syncordia,
Paradyne Corporation, and IBM Corporation.
John received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business
Administration from the University of Missouri and
has attended the IBM Program for Executives at Colgate
University, IBM Systems Research Institute in New
York City, the Financial Management Program at The
Wharton School, the Harvard/MIT Executive Negotiations
Program, and the Crosby Quality College.

With over 20 years experience in
the communications industry, Carl Russo is President
and CEO of Calix a privately-funded supplier of telecommunications
infrastructure platforms designed to facilitate all
aspects of voice, data, and video service delivery
to business and residential subscribers for local
exchange carriers of all sizes.
Prior to joining Calix, Russo was the Vice President
of Optical Strategy and the Group Vice President
of Optical Networking for Cisco Systems. Russo joined
Cisco in 1999 via the acquisition of Cerent Corporation
where he was President and Chief Executive Officer.
Russo has held multiple executive management positions
throughout his career. Prior to Cerent, he was the
Chief Operating Officer for Xircom responsible for
the sales, marketing, development and manufacturing
of the entire Xircom line of products. Russo was
also the Senior Vice President and General Manager
for the Hyperchannel Networking Group at Network
Systems and the Vice President and General Manager
for the Data Networking Products Division of AT&T
Paradyne.
Carl Russo is an alumni of Swarthmore College and
serves on its Board of Trustees.
